While spending time living in Castiglion Fiorentino, a small town in the heart of the Italian Tuscan region, and traveling across Italy, a variety of drawing techniques were explored in an effort to find, develop, and perfect a personal, signature drawing style. I initially attempted very precise line drawings and water colors. These drawings reflect the traditional methods that architects employ to communicate their ideas.
As time wore on though, I was able to loosen up and develop a style with more freedom that at times could seem chaotic, but was still very deliberate and was reflected in both the water colors and graphite drawings. These drawings were intended to capture the impression of the scene without getting too caught up with the specific details.
